Still driving and texting? Here are some tools to help!

Distracted driving, which includes distraction, driver inattention or cellphone use, is becoming increasingly common and dangerous, causing traffic crashes and fatalities.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, in 2013, there were 94,943 traffic crashes in Texas that involved distracted driving (distraction, driver inattention or cell-phone use).

These crashes resulted in 18,576 serious injuries and 459 deaths.

In fact, nearly one in five crashes in Texas involves driver distraction.

Here are some technology resources to monitor yourself and your kids.

Please note, the Alamo Area MPO is not endorsing one technology solution over another - but providing these are references that you may wish to evaluate for your own personal usage.
