TCEQ Offers Grants for Emission-Reduction Technology


The Texas Commission of Environmental Quality announced that applications are now being accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2016, for New Technology Implementation Grants.
The program is part of the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan, and provides up to $3.5 million in grants for eligible individuals and businesses who build, own, and operate new technologies to reduce emissions from point sources or store electricity related to renewable energy.


There are three NTIG project categories:

•Advanced Clean Energy projects that involve the use of certain hydrocarbons (coal, natural gas, or petcoke), biomass, solid waste, or derived-hydrogen fuel cells, while meeting minimum emissions reductions requirements     

•New Technology projects that reduce emissions of regulated pollutants (such as criteria pollutants or hazardous air pollutants) from point sources

•Electricity Storage projects that store electrical energy related to renewable energy sources

Air Quality Open House

Texans living and working in the Bexar County and the surrounding area are invited to attend the Air Quality Open House on Monday, Nov.2, 2015 at Noah’s Event Venue in San Antonio.

This Open House is hosted by The Honorable Nelson W. Wolff, Bexar County Judge, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality with the support of the City of San Antonio and Alamo Area Council of Governments. The Open House will provide the opportunity to hear from county and city leaders about air quality and programs that are available to help reduce emissions. The Open House will include presentations as well the opportunity to visit exhibits and talk to experts from TCEQ, Railroad Commission of Texas, Texas Department of Transportation, Bexar County, City of San Antonio and the Alamo Area Council of Governments, Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and Via Metropolitan Transit.   The doors open at 8:00 a.m. and the presentations begin at 8:30am.
