Seele Elementary Neighborhood Walkable Community Workshop

New Braunfels, TX − The City of New Braunfels, the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO), and The Institute for Public Health and Education Research (TIPHER) have announced that they will be hosting a Walkable Community Workshop for the neighborhoods surrounding Seele Elementary on October 15th,  from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Seele Elementary School cafeteria. There will be mapping exercises and a short presentation on walkable and bikeable neighborhoods. Light refreshments will be served.

"These workshops are instrumental in helping the City and AAMPO plan for a safer, healthier, and greener transportation system,” says Allison Blazosky of AAMPO. “For example, in August of 2014 we helped put on a workshop at the Westside Community Center that supported the City’s securement of additional funding to improve sidewalks and pedestrian safety in the area around Lonestar Elementary School.”

The workshop/study area includes all residents and businesses between Landa Street, Fredericksburg Road, Walnut Avenue, and Grandview Avenue. Because these workshops are most effective when they have great turnout from the community, AAMPO is encouraging all neighbors, friends, and business owners in the area to spread the word, attend, and provide their opinions.
