As the Chairman of the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, Councilman Lopez strives to plan for the future transportation needs for the City of San Antonio and the surrounding areas.
The SAMCo Transportation Award is the highest honor bestowed by the organization for exceptional service, and is not awarded every year.
