MPO recognized by the League of American Bicyclists

On August 26, 2015, the League of American Bicyclists recognized the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) with a Silver Bicycle Friendly Business (BFBSM) award, joining more than 1,000 visionary businesses and organizations from across the country.

With the announcement of 100 new and renewing BFBs, the MPO joins a cutting-edge group of more than 1,050 local businesses, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies in 47 states and Washington, D.C., that are transforming the American workplace.

The MPO is one of three Silver Level  BFBSM in the San Antonio area, and one of five businesses locally to be recognized as a BFBSM.

The MPO was recognized for the ongoing support of active modes of transportation, including the annual Walk & Roll Rally, the work of our Bicycle Mobility and Pedestrian Mobility Advisory Committees and the continued support of expanding bicycling opportunities across the region.

The Alamo Area MPO will hold the Silver Level  BFBSM for four years and it may be renewed at that time.
