Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales named Chair of the Bicycle Mobility Advisory Committee

At the Transportation Policy Board meeting on Monday, March 23, 2015, San Antonio City Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales was confirmed as the next Chair of  the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization's (MPO) Bicycle Mobility Advisory Committee (BMAC). Councilwoman Gonzales, a strong supporter of healthy transportation, will chair her first meeting of BMAC on April 8, 2015.



Councilwoman Gonzales was nominated by the BMAC membership to replace Judge Oscar Kazen who resigned from the committee earlier this year.

BMAC was established by the MPO in 1995. BMAC's purposes is to improve bicycle mobility within the MPO boundaries, while serving as an advisory body to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the MPO. BMAC membership includes representatives from the public, professional organizations, local and regional governments and bicycle organizations.
