The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will be hosting two public events in February in the Alamo Area MPO area.
The first meeting, on Thursday February 19, 2015 will address the IH-10 West "Perimeter Plan" improvement project. The second meeting will be a public hearing on the draft Environmental Assessment for the IH-35 Northeast San Antonio Expansion Project.
The first meeting, to be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 will deal with the IH-10 West "Perimeter Plan" improvement project. This project proposes to have improvements from FM 3351 to Fair Oaks Parkway along IH-10 West.
Specifically, the project is proposing improvements to include:
*Convert existing IH-10 two-way Frontage Roads to one-way Frontage Roads
*Construct new IH-10 Overpass at Old Fredericksburg Road *Replace and expand the existing Fair Oaks Parkway Bridge over IH-10
*Reconfigure entrance and exit ramps along the corridor.

The Open House for this project will be on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Spring Creek United Methodist Church located at 28970 Old Fredericksburg Road in Fair Oaks Ranch, TX 78015.
Please note that for this meeting there will be no formal presentation and the meeting itself will operate as an open house allowing participants to come and go at their convenience.
The second public event is a public hearing on the Draft Environmental Assessment for the IH-35 Northeast San Antonio Expansion Project.
The Draft Environmental Assessment recommends construction of four elevated managed lane along IH-35 from South IH-410 in San Antonio to FM 1103 in Schertz. A managed lane is a travel lane that operates separately from the mainlanes. Travel on these lanes is managed through a combination of pricing, vehicle eligibility, and access control strategies to achieve faster, more reliable speeds.
Hard copies of the maps, drawings, environmental reports, and documents concerning the project will be available for viewing at the TxDOT San Antonio District office located at 4615 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78229 from 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.
The Public Hearing for this Draft Environmental Assessment will be on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Morgan's Wonderland in the Event Center / Conference Room located at 5223 David Edwards Drive San Antonio, Texas 78233.
An open house will start at 5 P.M. with a formal presentation and the public hearing starting at 6:00 P.M.
Additionally, an online public hearing will be available from Thursday, February 26 until Monday, March 9, 2015 at the TxDOT website - by using the key word search "I-35 Northeast San Antonio". The same presentation, displays and handouts provided at the public hearing on the 26th of February will be available on the online public hearing website.
All public input received will be incorporated into the Final Environmental Assessment for the project and must be received by Monday, March 9, 2015 to be included.
